Samantha Tan is a writer, advocate, author assistant, and all-around decent human being. Having graduated in 2016 with a B.S. in Psychology and spending a year on the Dean’s List after years suffering from depression and social anxiety, she started working in human rights advocacy and as an after school teacher. Currently, she handles constituent relations for a statewide arts advocacy organization and is spearheading a conversation series on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts and culture sector in the state.
Samantha enjoys spending time with her family, dog, and friends, whether in person or online on Twitter and Discord. She is a self-taught guitarist and baritone ukulele player, and has played piano for nearly 20 years. In her free time, she loves watching musicals, examining the gender politics of the Bachelor franchise, and yelling about her favorite books on Twitter.

when I was a kid, I was always so excited to vote. I remember poring over the Nickelodeon voter guide for kids, learning how the electoral college worked, and even taking notes on the Bush/Kerry debates in 2004. I think I always wanted to vote because of how hard the people before me fought for my right to vote. (the stickers don’t hurt tho)
